Shredder

Why shredding is done...
Frequently metal chips are bushy and do not satisfy the short shoveling category necessary for either briquetting or centrifuging. In most instances it is necessary to shred bushy chips to increase bulk density for transport or infeed into melting equipment.

There are four types of shredders that are commonly used in metal chip processing. The four types are;

Wadbuster®
The design of our patented Wadbuster® enables us to provide the largest infeed in chip processing, increasing reliability and productivity, resulting in maximum uptime.
(Patent number 5,722,604.)
  • Shreds all chip types
  • Processes surges
  • Quiet operation
  • Low horsepower
  • Virtually jam proof
  • Stationary or portable models
  • No special foundation needed

  • High torque
  • Low speed
  • Quiet operation
  • Jam protection
  • Wear resistant parts
  • Various sizes
  • Hydraulic or mechanical drive

Rip Shredder
  • Shreds all chip types
  • Processes surges
  • Quiet operation
  • Low horsepower
  • Stationary or portable models
  • Minimal foundation

Ring Mill
  • Produces very fine chips
  • High horse power
  • Requires a foundation
  • Subject to jamming
  • High noise level

Shredder selection is based upon the type of metal chips and the process application. The method of infeed is critical in order to reliably deal with chip surges. If the selection is incorrect the shredder will be either unreliable or suffer catastrophic failure.
